Casting calls are jobs description generate by a director or a casting director based on their character's breakdown. Until not so long ago all casting process was done by mailing and messenger services. The envelopes contained a cover letter, headshots, and resume of the actor sent by his / her representative Once the casting director viewed the packet he / she would call the actor's representative to schedule an audition. Usually following a successful audition will come a callback

If the actor delivered a good convincing performance in his callback(s) he / she would most likely get the part or would be on avail

Open casting call is a free invitation for actors to show up and tryout for a role in an open audition. The actor would either get sides upfront, like on a regular audition, or will be required to do a cold reading, which mean getting the sides a few minutes before the audition, or even just when he walks into the audition room.

Today, more and more casting calls are posted online, therefore the all casting process is done online. Many sites take money for this service. Let's just get right to it shall we? If you are non-union and want to be seen by serious industry professionals in LA, read the information below: We are looking for a male actor that fits the following physical description: Age : 30-37 Height : 5' 7" tall (5'6 to 5'8") Weight : approx 155 lbs, slim to athletic, actor must be physically fit. Hair : Dark to Light Brown (Pref not blonde, but will consider) Actor must be able to do a convincing British accent. We are looking for female actors that fit the following description(s): Age : 30-40 Height : 5'5 to 5'9 Weight : 120 to 130 lbs, must be physically fit and very attractive with personality (NO NUDITY) Hair : Any color Age : 25-35 Height : 5'2 to 5'7 Weight : avg, not as important as being "curvy", able to be "sensual" as well as "innocent" (NO NUDITY). Hair : Non-blonde pref. (This character must have a good range, from "decadent pro" to "innocent victim") 1. This is for a trailer for a feature film (Thriller). The trailer will be seen in L.A. at the next annual AFM (Amer. Film Market). (More professionals in one room than any other national film event) 2. Selected actors WILL BE considered for the full-length feature upon funding completion. 3. The trailer will be directed by an established, world-wide distributed, feature film director. 4. This will be a professional trailer shoot, with actors agreement contract, non disclosure agreement, reel, food, and credit.
